Horace Piazza

Horace A. Piazza, age 87, of Bigelow, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Jane Bradbury Piazza; his parents, Elfreida and Charles Piazza; and four brothers and one sister. He is survived by two brothers, Dr. Eugene Piazza (Nina) of Sudbury, Massachusetts and Harvey Piazza of Little Rock; one sister, Elfreida Bridges of Little Rock; one son, Ross Piazza (Somers) of Little Rock; his daughter and best friend, Ellen Piazza Peterson, of Bigelow; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind three loving canine friends, Fancy, Maui and Mardi.

Horace was the founder and owner of Horace A. Piazza & Associates, Architects, in Little Rock until his retirement in 2007. He was a practicing architect for more than 40 years. He designed an array of churches, schools, banks, libraries, medical clinics and homes. His design work included Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Little Rock, St. Luke's Episcopal Church in North Little Rock, Brackett Library at Harding University in Searcy, and Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts, interior theatre, in Little Rock, to name a few. He was an emeritus Member of the American Institute of Architects and AIA Arkansas.

Horace served in the United States Navy and also served as a Second Lieutenant in the Army of the United States. He was a past member of the Kiwanis Club of West Little Rock.

Memorial services were private.
