Hewitt Harvey Hicks, age 67, of Norman, died Monday, July 27, 2015. He was born on July 17, 1948 at Norman, the son of Harvey Luther Hicks and Ava Maddox Hicks. On May 26, 1979, he was married to Ivy Pittman. A United States Navy veteran, he served in Vietnam. He was a retired barber and member of the Norman First Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife, Ivy Hicks of Norman; his son and daughter-in-law, Preston and Courtney Hicks of Glenwood; his daughter and son-in-law, DeeAnn Lea and Shannon Ketchum of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Swayze Brown, Caleb Hicks, Seth Brown and Presley Ava Hicks; his sister and brother-in-law, Jeannette and Paul R. Gaw of Cookeville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 31, 2015, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Mark Gaw, Bro. James Hughes and Bro. Robbie Loudermilk officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Black Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Angel, Daniel Pittman, Paul Gaw, Caleb Hicks, Swayze Brown and Seth Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be his church family at Norman First Baptist Church, the staff of Arkansas Hospice, Bob Hollingshead and Travis Dollar. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
