Hershel Rouse

Hershel Wayne Rouse, 78, of Cabot, died Thursday April 9, 2020. He was born December 5, 1941 in Searcy, Arkansas to Hershel and Lola Phifer Rouse.

Wayne worked for Yarnell’s in Searcy, prior to his military service in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War.  After his military service, he worked several jobs including CECO, Wal-Mart, auto sales, and auctioneering.  Wayne was a HAM radio operator until his retirement in 2008.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dot and son, Alan Rouse.

Wayne is survived by his sister, Frankie Sheppard of Searcy, nephews Marty Sheppard (Stephanie) and Kevin Sheppard (Rachel), great nieces Alyssa Cummins (Josh), Emily Sheppard, and Kaylee (Brandon) Tharp, great nephew Garrett Sheppard, and great great niece and nephew Sadie Mae and Jase Cummins.

Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2020 at Old Austin Cemetery, in Ward.
