Herschel Bray

Herschel Lee Bray, 81, of Bismarck, AR passed from this life January 16, 2010 at the Arkansas Hospice Unit. He was born November 23, 1928 in Bismarck, AR to Roy James and Gladys Herrin Bray. He was retired from the USAF and a former owner of B & B Hardware, Bismarck Ar. He loved to garden, visit friends and family, and was a faithful member of the DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school secretary for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anna Rowland Bray of Bismarck; three sons, Perry Myers (Jenny) of Benton, Troy Bray (Debbie) and Gary Bray (Teresa) both of Bismarck; two daughters: Annette Myers of Bismarck and Cathy Gosa (Bo) of Knoxville, TN; three brothers, Roy Bray Jr. (Oma) and Kenneth Bray (Elaine) both of Bismarck, and Charles Bray (Barbara) of Pine Bluff and two sisters, Irene Gaither of Bismarck and Pat Launius (Larry) of Doddridge; and 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held 10 am Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church with nephews as pallbearers; Bro. Chris Morrison and Bro. Roy Williams officiating. Interment will be at the DeRoche Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to DeRoche MBC building fund, c/o 2058 Hwy 7, Bismarck, AR 71929.
