Herman Norris

Herman Norris, age 74, of Glenwood, died Saturday, December 28, 2013. He was born on May 14, 1939 at Mountain Pine, the son of James Tillman Norris and Florean Thrash Norris. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Smith Norris; his parents; and his sister, Frances Pacheco. A well known automotive mechanic in the area, he owned and operated Broadway Auto Service for many years. He was a 1957 graduate of Glenwood High School and member of the Amity First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Fay Norris of Glenwood; his daughter, Angelia Norris of Bryant; his step-daughter, Rita Symonds of Amity; his sister, Bennie Stoner of Littleton, Colorado; his brother-in-law, Frank Pacheco of North Little Rock; two grandsons, David Symonds and Jake Vaught; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2014, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery near Amity. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
