Taking in the experience by car for most of their adventures, they traveled from coast to coast and Hawaii to Alaska.
In addition to the love he shared with his family, Herbert was incredibly devoted to his church home at Central Baptist in North Little Rock. After losing his wife eighteen years ago, he busied his days with church activities. He looked forward to annual mission trips planning for them months in advance and he cherished participating in the choir performances.
He was outgoing and talkative making friends easily. Residing in the same neighborhood for decades, he established friendships and helped others. The family is very grateful to those who helped him in his later years. Having recently moved to Northwest Arkansas, he adjusted well to his new assisted living center at Morningside Fayetteville. The staff and other residents there helped to make the last several months of his life meaningful and special.
Interment will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Sherwood, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Central Baptist Church, 5200 Fairway Avenue, North Little Rock, Arkansas, 72116.
