Herbert A. "Herb" Schroeder, age 85, of Searcy was born October 16, 1932 to August and Bertha Schroeder and passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017.


Herb was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and neighbor. For many years, he was actively involved in his community, church, farming, and organizations. Herb was a Charter Member and an Elder at his church, Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Searcy.

He is survived by three children; Kim Schroeder and wife, Jenese of Lonoke, Vicki Pierce and husband, Larry of Aromas, California and Howell Schroeder and wife, Danielle of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kim Schroeder, Jr., Nicholas Schroeder, Audrey Bullock, Hayden Schroeder, Zach Lange and ten great grandchildren.

Herb is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Betty; sisters, Clara Schuetts, Alma Halford, Martha Halford; brothers, Raymond Schroeder and Willard Schroeder.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2610 S. Main Street, Searcy, Arkansas 72143.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Beebe.
