Herbert Reiner

Herbert Oscar Reiner, born August 13, 1924, to Samuel and Helen Reiner, died Dec. 20, 2014, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born and raised in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. After the war, his family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he was a registered mechanical contractor and chief furnace mechanic for Atherton Oil Company. After moving to Little Rock in the mid-1970s, he resumed his career in industrial maintenance at Thibault Milling Co., a position from which he retired.

Reiner was devoted to his wife of 36 years, Carol J. Sanders, and enjoyed tools, tinkering and traveling. His expertise will be missed by his wife and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norman Reiner. In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughter, Michele Graham (Roy); son, Jeffrey; and granddaughter Renee Graham of St. Petersburg; step-daughter, Susan Merrell (Geoffrey); step-son, Luther W. Sonny Sanders Jr., (Diane); and step-grandchildren, Courtney Merrell, Royal Sanders and Josie Sanders.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
