Herbert L. McFarland, 78, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 20, 2007. He was born July 20, 1929 in Shamrock, Texas. Herbert was a brick mason by trade, a minister of the United Pentecostal Church and a retired mail handler for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. As a brick mason for 25 years he built many major buildings and subdivisions in Little Rock. He loved the Word of God and committed much of it to memory. Herbert loved to fish and entertain friends and family with fish fry?s. He had a true servants heart and ministered to people from every walk of life. He leaves behind a multitude of great memories for family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Jean Ramsey whom he cherished and a daughter, Rebecca Ann Smith. He is survived by his daughters, Dana Webb and her husband, Larry of North Little Rock and Ellen Jeans of Conway; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be 2:00 P.M., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday at North Little Rock, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
