Herbert "RAY" Adams, 74, of Little Rock, passed away October 13, 2009. Born July 29, 1935 in Bigelow, Arkansas to the late Herbert and Ona Johnson Adams, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Geraldine Horton and Earlene Cheek. Ray was a lifelong member of Bigelow Baptist Church and retired from Colonial Bakery, Balch Oldsmobile and Crain Automotive.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Perkins Adams; stepdaughter, Michelle Fitzpatrick Broadway; and stepsons, Jerry Fitzpatrick, Mark Fitzpatrick, Curtis Perkins and Steven Perkins.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Bigelow Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Bill Brown and Rev. H. L. Box. Burial will follow at Volman Cemetery in Bigelow. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening, October 16 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock.
Pallbearers will be Don Floyd, Charlie Evans, Gary McCall, Darrell Dunlap, Randy Young and Billy McGavock. Honorary pallbearer will be Lonnie Akridge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care Pet Therapy, 2200 S. Bowman, Little Rock, AR 72211.
