Herb Messick

Herb Messick, 73, of Sherwood passed away Monday, April 7, 2014. He served in the United States Air Force, was a former police officer with Montgomery County in Maryland and volunteered at Sherwood Police Department. He was a 4th degree knight with the Knights of Columbus. Herb was the greatest daddy that anyone could ask for and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashli Mashburn (Ray) of Texarkana; son, Kevin Messick (Sandy) of Benton; daughter, Mary Shannon Romanko (Paul) of Agawam, Massachusetts; grandson, Jaxon Romanko, of Agawam, Massachusetts; and his former wife, Cathey Carter, of Marion, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annabelle Messick; two brothers, Phillip and George Messick and his sister, Billie Ann Messick.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, followed by a Rosary Service at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
