Herald Dalton Mills, 85, of North Little Rock died March 24, 2014. He was born September 20, 1928 in Van Buren County to the late Floyd Mills and Thelma Blair Mills. Herald was a retired salesman and manager with the Singer Sewing Machine Co. and later retired from the University of Arkansas Extension Service. He enjoyed "tinkering" with any machine, was a long time member of Park Hill Baptist Church, but will be remembered most for his devotion to his family.
Herald was preceded in death by his wife Dean Mills. Survivors include his four children: Melinda Coleman and husband Roger, Elizabeth Lively and husband Dow, Douglas Mills and wife Regina and Stephen Mills and special family friend, Lawrence Dearmon; four grandchildren: Jay McAllister and wife Tara, Rachel McAllister, Jordin Mills and Briley Mills; one great grandchild Ashlin Pollock; two sisters and five brothers and one brother predeceased.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, March 29, 2014 beginning at 10:00 AM at Park Hill Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at noon at the church. Interment and graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at Martinville Cemetery, Damascus, AR. Memorials may be made to the Laman Library 2801 Orange St., North Little Rock, AR 72114.
