Henry Barre

Henry "Bart" Barre, 73, of Romance died Thursday, June 16, 2011. He was born in Pocahontas, Arkansas on November 13, 1937. He was a Catholic High School graduate, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 35 years and a member of the Immaculate Conception men's club and the Knight's of Columbus. Bart built homes in Sherwood and North Little Rock. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Julia Lukas Barre, of Romance; daughters, Beatrice (Joe) Hindman, of Fairfield Bay, Anna (Robert) Massery of Conway, Catherine (Jack) Lahmann, of Greenbrier and Deborah (John) Minor, of Searcy; son, Bart A. Barre, of Conway; thirteen grandchildren; brothers, Tom Barre, Greg Barre; sister, Mary Barnes; and mother, Catherine Baltz Barre, all of Pocahontas. He was preceded in death by his father, Vitus S. Barre, Sr.; brother, Vitus S. Barre, Jr. and sister Susan Kremers.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the priest retirement fund, St. John's Manor, 2414 N. Tyler Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72207.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Searcy. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in St. Paul's Cemetery in Pocahontas. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday followed by a rosary service at 7:00 p.m., at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
