Helen Matthews Wheaton, age 91, went to meet her savior on Monday April 10th, 2023, at her home in Brown Springs, Ar. She was born July 24th, 1931, in Ouachita, AR to WL “Dutch” and Vesta Gray Matthews.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Helen enjoyed working outside in her gardens but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Aside from her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years WL “Bill” Wheaton, infant twin sons, granddaughter Lauren Banks, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her daughter Debra English of Bella Vista, AR son Kendall Wheaton and wife Libby of Bismarck, AR and daughter Patricia George and husband Jim of Buckeye, AZ. One brother Melvin Matthews of Caney, AR.  Grandchildren Keith Howard, Brad Davis, Cary Wheaton, Katy Pricop, Kelli Anderson, Blake Keeton, Kristin Womack, Scott Banks, Matt Banks, Zach George, and Trace George, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She loved her family unconditionally.  Her love and guidance will be missed by all. 

A special thank you for the love, support, companionship and care to Delores Rutherford, Peggy Rankin, Peggy Smith and Donna Martin.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 15th at Ouachita Cemetery in Donaldson, Ar. with Cotton Womack officiating.  The pallbearers will be grandsons Keith Howard, Brad Davis, Cary Wheaton, Blake Keeton, Scott Banks, and Matt Banks.  Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Zach George and Trace George, great grandson Dalton Ivey, Branden Howard, Karsen Howard and nephew Lee Matthews.

 

Arrangements are by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, 517 Clay St. Arkadelphia, Arkansas 71923.
