Helen Virginia Hager

Helen Virginia Speer Starnes Hager, died June 7, 2016 at 100 years old. She was born on January 2, 1916, in Ft. Worth, Texas; the fourth child of Elvin and Nora Speer. She was married to Weldon Starnes for over 50 years. After Weldon passed away, she married Elden Hager who preceded her in death. Helen and Weldon had four children: Virginia Louise, Janet Irene, Thomas Allen and Terry Wayne. She is survived by her son, Terry (Cheryl); sons-in-law James Scherer and Larry Perry; grandchildren Chris Scherer (Michele), Stephen Perry (Sheena), Jill Fenner (Chris), Jacob Starnes (Lindsey) and Katherine Collier (Gentry); and, 8 wonderful great-grandchildren. A memorial service will follow in Dallas at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
