Helen Ruth Teague, 79, of Little Rock passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015. She was born in Mena, AR on April 27, 1936 to David A. and Rhea Childers. After graduation from Mena High School, she attended Henderson State University where she received a B. S. E. in Education. She also completed an M.S.E. in Education from the University of Arkansas. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, American Association of University Women, Delta Kappa Gamma, and North Pulaski Retired Teachers Association.
Helen Ruth began her career teaching Vocational Education at Van-Cove High School. She also taught at Acorn High School and was initiated into Delta Kappa Gamma, a Professional Educator's Society. She spent the majority of her teaching career at Mena High School where she taught Vocational Education, Information Technology and was the GCE Coordinator. She retired from Van Buren High School where she was the COE Coordinator and Information Technology teacher.
After retirement, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Traveling abroad with Pat and friends was also a big part of her retirement years. Her favorite trips were those she spent at the beach with her family. Bridge became a past time she enjoyed, whether playing with friends or on her IPad. Daily texting became her way of staying connected to her family once her mobility declined.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-one years, Kenneth "Pat" Teague; son, Scott Teague and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Leighton, Jantzen, and Dawson Teague; several nieces and nephews.
