Helen Ruth Spears

Helen Ruth Spears, age 70, of Glenwood, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. She was born on April 25, 1948, in Amity, the daughter of Frank Tigue and Barbara Watts Tigue. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Spears; her parents; and three brothers, James Tigue, Wesley Tigue and Floyd Tigue. Helen was retired, after many years of dedicated employment with Petit Jean Poultry in Arkadelphia, and she also helped take care of the needs of several elderly patients, until her own health would no longer allow her to work outside the home. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends at the Glenwood Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by one son, Jeffery Spears of Amity; two brothers, Edward Tigue and his wife, Mary, of Amity and Curtis Rufus Tigue and his wife, Rose, of Pearcy; two sisters, Della Henthorn of Mount Ida and Barbara Lou Cox of Murfreesboro; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. A visitation to celebrate Helens life will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 1, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of the Glenwood Health and Rehabilitation.
