Helen Pitts

Helen Marie Pitts, 73, of Morrilton went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2010. She was a member of Lonoke Missionary Baptist Church of Morrilton. She worked for Pulaski County School District as a Cafeteria Manager at Homer Atkins School in Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by parents, Harry E. Herbert Sr. and Madgie Shannon Herbert; three brothers, Harry Herbert Jr., LD Herbert, and Eugene Herbert; and one sister, Irene Pennington. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Pitts Sr., of Morrilton; two daughters, Janice Marie Yancey (Jerry), of Hot Springs, and Judy Van Pelt (Rickey), of Jacksonville; three sons, John Pitts Jr. (Libby), of Jacksonville, Jerry Pitts (Kelly), of Morrilton, and Terry Pitts (Tami), of Cabot; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Mitchell, of Malvern, Linda Jones, of Morrilton, and Glinda Jones (Loyd), of Jacksonville; and three brothers, Aaron Herbert (Connie), of Morrilton, Lloyd Herbert, of Jacksonville, and Kennith Herbert (Carolyn), of Little Rock and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family wishes to thank Dr. B. Baltz and his staff and all the nurses and staff of the 7th floor of Saint Vincent Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Bayou Meto Cemetery, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
