Helen Parks

Helen M. Parks, 92, of North Little Rock, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Parks previously worked at the Pentagon for the United States Government. She worked in Germany from 1945 to 1951 with the United States Government in efforts to reconstruct Germany after World War II. She then owned her own Personnel Firms in Jacksonville, Florida and Mobile, Alabama and later retired from D. H. Holmes Co. She had a good sense of humor and liked to shop and travel.
The family extends a special thanks to the intensive care nurses in ICU at Springhill Baptist Hospital and especially to Kerri and the nurses at Robinson Nursing Home for her care.
She is survived by her two brothers, Thomas M. Parks (Joyce) of Sikeston, Missouri and Charles H. Parks, Jr. and children of Des Moines, Iowa; niece and caregiver, Phyllis Yielding (Kenneth) of North Little Rock; niece, Kay Heard Bowie (Terry) of Russellville; nephews, Freddy H. James (Pat) of North Little Rock, W. Larry James (Susan) of Sherwood, Tommy C. Parks (Carol) of North Little Rock and Gary Parks Crawford (Mary Ann) of Little Rock; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. and Edna Bass Parks; sisters, Ethel Parks James, Ann Parks Crawford, Jean Parks Cotton and Lillian Parks Heard; and brother, Walter Wayne Parks.
Memorials may be made to Baring Cross Baptist Church, 7541 Warden Road Sherwood, Arkansas 72120.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Mt Carmel Cemetery, Cabot. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
