Helen Josephine Wolf

Helen Josephine Wolf passed away Monday, May 16,2022 at the age of 106. Helen was born to Bernard and Nora Fritchie of Prairie View, Arkansas on December 29, 1915.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Clare Edward Wolf, and two sisters,
Sr. Eleanora Fritchie and Caroline Pennartz. She is survived by ten children: Karen(John), Edward(Vicki), Charlotte (Paul), Rebecca (Ralph), Michael (Lenda), Christina (David), Gregory(Katy), Fidelis, Daniel (Debbie) and Alice (Pat). She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Helen was a homemaker and gardener. She enjoyed hand quilting and cooking. She was a lifelong Catholic who was the first person to be baptized in St. Meinrad Church in Prairie View, Arkansas. She held an office in the National Catholic Women’s Union and was a lifelong member of St. Anne’s Mother`s Society of St. Meinrad Church. She was a charter member of the Prairie View Extension Homemaker’s Club and received a 50 year commendation for her active membership. She was a past president of the State Catholic Women’s Union. She served in the Selective Service System for 5 years.

Visitation will be at St. Meinard Church at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Funeral Mass will be at St. Meinrad Church at 1:00pm with Fr. John Miranda officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made in Helen’s name to St. Meinrad Church, Prairie View, Arkansas, 72863.
