Helen Carolyn Golenor Herrin, 78, of Little Rock, died Saturday, August 18, 2007. She was a member of Mabelvale United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Gleaners Circle.
Born March 31, 1928 in Malvern, Arkansas, the fifth child in a family of nine children, Helen was seven years old when her family moved to Little Rock, where she attended Parham Elementary, East Side Junior High and Little Rock Senior High Schools. In 1950, she married Donald B. Herrin and they traveled much of the central states since Don worked for Westinghouse Elevator Division. They just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on August 11.
She is survived by her husband, Donald B. Herrin; one brother, C.W. (Bill) Golenor; three sisters, Nancy Brown of Mabelvale, Marian Moseley of Maumelle and Pat Foster of Little Rock; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, August 20 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. The Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21 at Mabelvale United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Bob Marble. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Alexander. Memorials may be made to Mabelvale United Methodist Church.
