Helen Rhea (Gilbert) Bowerman, 92, of Little Rock, AR, died on July 13, 2018. She was born December, 19, 1925 to Granville A. and Minnie M. Gilbert in Izard County, Arkansas. At one year of age the family moved to Charlotte, AR where she lived and attended Charlotte Schools. She moved to Little Rock in 1945, she met and married Leo Bowerman, Jr., in 1949. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church having been active in a number of different phases of the church. Helen could play the piano by ear and her favorite song to play was "Whispering Hope".
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings and then her husband in 1985. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Carol Mercado (Bob) of Orlando, FL and Marcia Kay Winkle (Ron) of Little Rock, AR, one granddaughter, one step daughter, Sharon Lynch (Dennis) of Columbia, MO, one step-grandson, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives.
Graveside services will be 10:00am, Tuesday, July 17th, at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, AR.
