Heather Hemphill

Heather L. (Gibson) Hemphill died on September 15th, 2014. Heather was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 27, 1967, to Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Gibson. She attended Bryant High School and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Department.

Before being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Heather was employed by the by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Department of Medicine as a Research Technologist. She has also been as an accomplished equestrienne, competing at Dressage and Combined Training events on a national level.

Heather was preceded in death by her father, T. W. "Hoot" Gibson. She is survived by her mother and caregiver Glynda E. Gibson, sister, Kimberly S. (Gibson) Henning, brother-in-law David B. Henning, nephews Hunter and Shawn Henning, and a host of friends and family. Heather leaves behind these very special people: life-long best friend Deshea (Barnett) Rose of Vilonia, close family friend and riding coach Marty Hopkins of Little Rock, and outdoor enthusiast kindred spirit, her cousin, Jon Astoon of El Dorado.

Our family would like to thank neurologist Dr. Lee Archer, and Heather's entire healthcare team at UAMS. Special thanks to her primary car physician, Dr. Amy Fitzgerald and to Arkansas Hospice, for their compassionate care.

A private family service is to be held in the Ozark National Forrest.
