Hazel Villines of Little Rock, born August 11, 1917 died August 11, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Floyd G. Villines, Jr. She is survived by her children Sally and husband Jim Linebarger, Buddy Villines and wife Beverly, and Gary Villines and wife Pam. Hazel had five grandchildren, Meredith, Jack, Corey, Holly and Taylor.
Hazel was a loving and supporting partner in ministry with Floyd. They served the United Methodist Church in eight Arkansas communities and as Superintendent of the Batesville District. A former schoolteacher, Hazel was very involved in the children?s ministries of the churches they served.
Hazel was intelligent, well read and a gentle, loving mother and grandmother. She instilled in her children an appreciation for education and acceptance of all people as equal in the eyes of God. She never said a negative word about anyone. Friends of Hazel knew her gentle kindness manifested by her presence whenever there was a need. From simple acts such as a plate of cookies to a willingness to listen, you knew she genuinely cared. Hazel made a lasting impression and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Monday at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens in Heber Springs.
