Hazel McCain

Hazel Baird McCain, 89, went to be with our God and her husband of 69 years, Jarrell G. McCain on August 27, 2008. She was born March 18, 1919 to Lou Ella and Charlie Baird. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother and a sister.
She spent her life supporting her husband in his work for the federal government and caring for her daughter, Lynda McCain Fausett of Little Rock, and Lynda's children and grandchildren and numerous family pets. She was an excellent homemaker and great cook. Many delicious meals were eaten at her table. She was always able to make biscuits and gravy for those who enjoyed them.
She was sustained all her life by her faith, her friends in church and her family; and most of all, by the loving care of her husband of many years.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Lynda and husband, A. Smith Fausett; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Kelly Fausett Ross and Mitchell, Courtney and Mitch Ross of Little Rock; Kristin Fausett of Austin, Texas; and Bret and Hilary Fausett, Asher, Ellie and Claire of La Canada, California.
Very special appreciation is given to Nancy Hegwood who was a loving caretaker for many years; to the staff at Briarwood Nursing and Rehab, and the doctors and staff at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.
Some people are known by many and some by just a few. Our true value is found in faithfulness to God, family and friends. And that is the truth "Mama" leaves with her loved ones. Love and forgiveness hold the only hope for peace in families, relationships and the world. We were blessed to have a loving, forgiving and accepting Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother for almost ninety years.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29 at Pinecrest Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Michael Mattox and Pastor Tony Jones. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association
Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock, (501)224-2200. Visit the online guestbook at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
