Hazel Garland

Hazel Thomas Garland age 94 of Southaven, Mississippi formerly of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in Southaven. She was born March 16, 1916 in the Hearn Community the daughter of the late Ben and Daisy Thomas. Her husband, James T. Garland; son, J. T. Garland; brother, Leroy Thomas and sister, Faye Dickinson all preceded her in death. Hazel was a loving wife, mother and friend.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Garland Elder and husband, Willis of Southaven, Mississippi; son, Dr. Larry Garland of Bend, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Garland of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, James E. Thomas of Tehachapi, California; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, September 10, 2010 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
