Hazel A. Crews, age 94, of Hot Springs, formerly of Amity, died Sunday, April 5, 2015. She was born on July 5, 1920, in Ti Valley, Oklahoma the daughter of Jasper Monroe Fouts and Minnie Francis Reynolds Fouts. On August 2, 1936, she was married to Joseph Wesley Crews who preceded her in death on May 3, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Mary Whisenhunt and LeQuita Smith; and three sons, Harold Crews, Rickey Crews, and her infant son, Tommy Crews; two grandchildren, James Keith Outler and Kristina Wright; and her great-great-granddaughter, Emmee Kay Forrest. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible, gardening, crocheting, canning, fishing and listening to blue grass music. She dearly loved her family and her greatest joy in life was spending time with them, especially her precious grandchildren and all her greats. She was loved so much by her family and will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Orville and Connie Crews of Huntington, Indiana; her grandchildren, Nikki Whisenhunt, Marsha Harlan, Billy Whisenhunt, Pam Barrett, Brenda Outler, Terry Crews, Katrina Raber, Dria Richards, Kim Case, Mark Crews, Steve Crews, Vicki Hammond, Darrell Crews, Brenda Seely, Jimmy Smith, Dodie Richardson, Teresa Wilson, Shelly Sirmon, Rickey Crews and Angie Shirley; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Othel Fouts of Andrew, Indiana; two sisters, Virgie Crews of Glenwood and Evelyn Waldrum of Amity; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 8, 2015, in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Herring officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning, 10:00 AM until service time, at the church. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Mark Crews, Steve Crews, Wesley Whisenhunt, Victor Alexander, Jason Alexander, Jacob Case, Rickey Crews and Jimmy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be her caregivers, Terry and Sarah Crews, Dr. Martin A. Koehn and the nurses and staff of Arkansas Hospice, the nurses and staff of 2 East of St. Vincent Hospital, Hot Springs, Dr. Stephen H. Mason and his nurses and staff, and the Area Agency on Aging.
