Hattie Brown Simpson born near Dewitt, Arkansas, February 18, 1917 to Thomas J. and Sarah Ellen Swain Brown died peacefully at home at age 92, Friday, January 8, 2010. Hattie was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Department. Although unable to attend church for the past two years, she remained actively interested in what was going on and enjoyed the at home ministry of services on tape and visits by the Shepherd's Ministry of Park Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, E. Lawrence Simpson, her parents, Thomas J. and Sarah Ellen Swain Brown and brothers and sisters. Among her survivors are her son, Larry G. Simpson of Sherwood; sister, Cora Ellingsburg of Portland, Oregon; sister-in-law, Ruth Simpson of Pasadena, Texas; loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Mom will be sorely missed by all.
Memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church or to the 1st Baptist Church in Dewitt, Arkansas.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Essex Funeral Home in Dewitt, Arkansas with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Dewitt Cemetery.
