Harvey Bell
Harvey L. "Dude" Bell, age 61, of Little Rock, passed away February 22, 2016 in Little Rock. He was born to Jeffrey and Phebe Penn-Bell in Marion, Indiana. His parents were originally from Steprock, Arkansas, where Dude spent many of his summers and some holidays.
Dude graduated from Gas City, Indiana and moved to Bryan, Ohio where his brothers were living; he worked for eight years at Chief Supermarket& also worked at Harry's Market in Little Rock for several years. He met Patricia Welsh-Saneda and her three children and they were married on January 24, 1976, and just celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary.
Dude, along with his brother David Bell and Pat's brother Mike Welsh, were members of William's County EMTs, fondly called "The Dirty Dozen". Dude and Pat moved to Little Rock in 1983, in 2003 they were honored as the Family of the Year by the Daisy Bates Commission. Dude owned and ran a ServiceMaster for fifteen years before retiring.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother David Bell, and a sister Melba Jane.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Bell of the home; children F. Philip Saneda (Kim); and children Justin (Karen) and Faith Mary Saneda of Little Rock; Kerry Williams of North Little Rock; and children Ann-Marie, and Gavan Williams; Gini Nihart (Troy) of Bryan, Ohio, and children Michael and Kenneth Chappuies, Alyssa and Aubrey Nihart; Adam Bell (Ashley) of Little Rock, and daughters Madison and Macy Bell; and Daniel P. Bell of the home in Little Rock; great-grandchildren, Aleah , Kadens Chappuies, Abel Charles Polk, Gunner, and Riley(due in May of 2016) Saneda; and brothers William Bell of Floyd, Arkansas, Jeffrey Bell of Defiance , Ohio, Robert Bell of Paulding, Ohio and Harvey Charles of Barlow Lake, Indiana.
A Rosary will be Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., followed by a visitation from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., both at Huson Funeral Home at 6400 Mabelvale Pike (one block West of 65th Street & University Ave), Little Rock, Arkansas 72209.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church at 6219 Baseline Rd, Little Rock, AR 72209.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dude's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of your choice.
