Harry Whitlowe Heidelberg

Harry Whitlowe Heidelberg entered Heaven peacefully on May 6, 2020. He was born January 28,1936 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Frederick Hezekiah Heidelberg and Margaret Whitlowe Heidelberg. Harry leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Suzanne Hill Heidelberg, daughters Lyndi (Rob) Gregory of Sherwood, Laurie (Robert) Johnson of North Little Rock and son Rick Heidelberg of Beebe; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Gay Heidelberg Schuldt of Tuckasegee, NC and Leesa Heidelberg Young of Acworth, GA, nieces and nephews.

Harry graduated from Huntsville High School in Alabama, where he played football. He attended Presbyterian college Southwestern at Memphis (currently Rhodes College) freshman year before joining the Air Force as a member of the 825th Air Division at Little Rock Air Force Base. Upon discharge from the Air Force, he completed college at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1960.

During Harry’s career he and his family resided in St. Louis, Kentucky, North Carolina, Nashville before permanently settling in Sherwood where he lived and worked the remainder of his life. He spent the majority of his work career with Simmons Investment Firm in Little Rock.

The son of a Presbyterian minister, Harry was a faithful Christian his whole life. He and his wife have been members of Park Hill Presbyterian Church in North Little Rock for many years. He donated to several charities regularly.

Harry was an avid “scratch” golfer, winning many tournaments and club championships around the state over the years. Being a UA Alumni, he was extremely passionate about all Razorback sports. Also known as “Didi”, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private ceremony honoring him will be held at his church for the family. His final resting place will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR. In Lieu of plants and flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in his memory.
