Harry Rush Gunther of Little Rock passed away on May 15, 2016. Born in Memphis, Tennessee to Harry Boyd and Margaret Rush Gunther, he was a graduate of Memphis Catholic High School. He was an avid hunter, scuba diver, and outdoor enthusiast.
Mr. Gunther owned a local dive store for twenty-five years and spent most of his time teaching people what he loved to do. He was passionate about outdoor explorations and animated in his story-telling about his life experiences.
Mr. Gunther is preceded in death by his parents and his hunting companion labs, Jessie and Max. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Whayne Gunther; son, John Julius Gunther and wife, Amanda; daughter, Harriett Rush Gunther; grandsons, Christopher and Matthew; sister, Dorothy Gunther Pugh and husband, Robert; brother, George Paul Gunther; new hunting companion, Joe; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James United Methodist, 321 Pleasant Valley Dr.
