Harrison Shepard Hughes, age 74 of Amity died Sunday, January 8, 2006. He was born Jan 20, 1931 in Lenox, AR the son of the late John R. and Cora Emma Shepard Hughes. He was a machinist/shop foreman for Reynolds Metal Co and a Protestant. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Erline Chitwood Hughes; one son, Kenneth E. Hughes Brunswick, GA; one daughter, Janice M. Johnston of Texarkana, AR; Two brothers, Charles Hughes of Hot Springs Village and George Hughes of Alpine; two sisters, Margie Henry of Albuquerque, NM, Isabelle Adcock of Arkadelphia; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, Jan 11, 2006 in Brushy Cemetery with Billy Wayne Hughes officiating. Interment under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to Brushy Cemetery fund c/o Gerald Holcomb, #3 Windmill Rd., Amity, AR 71921
