Harold Wiggs

Harold Lee Wiggs, 79, of Beebe, Arkansas passed away at his home Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Harold has reunited with his beloved wife, Marcella, in Heaven. He was born November 8, 1938, in McClelland, Arkansas to Woodrow and Bernice Colbert Wiggs. Born prematurely, Harold only weighed around 2 ½ pounds. His Granny Colbert would hold this precious bundle so close to their woodburning heater she would burn her arms.

Survivors include his four children, Stephanie Banet of Trumann, Andy Lee Wiggs of Beebe, Anna Annis and Malinda Plummer of Des Arc; eight grandchildren, Ricky Plummer, Jr., Christy (Todd) Angelo, Audie (Marie) Shirley, Jr., David (Carmen) Shirley, Emily Ingram, Jessica Romaine, Dakota Brown, and Jordan Mitchell; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Leroy (Connie) Akridge, Jr. of Furlow; and a sister, Elaine Wiggs Dukes; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and very dear friends Dexter and Ellen Barnes.

Harold spent most of his youth on the family dairy farm learning respect, love for family, and work ethics. He graduated from Beebe High School, attended ASU Beebe, and spent time in the United States Marine Corp. Harold retired from Personal Products (formerly Chicopee, a Johnson and Johnson Company) in North Little Rock. Harold and Marcella loved to travel and visited all fifty states, some more than once. He also loved riding his motorcycle with Andy as his traveling partner.

Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marcella; his oldest daughter Myra A. Mitchell; his parents Leroy Akridge, Sr. and Bernice Akridge, Woodrow Wiggs; sister Sandra Wiggs; and his beloved son-in-law of forty-three years, Ricky Plummer, Sr, less than three months ago.

Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. Funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Beebe First Christian Church, 205 W.
