Harold ?Hal? Lynn Smith, 67, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, June 23, 2008. Mr. Smith was born in Cabot on December 30, 1940 to Gladys and J.B. Smith. He graduated from Cabot High School in 1958. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cabot. He was a retired Captain of the North Little Rock Fire Department where he served for almost 29 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a man of many talents and interests including Ham radio operator, cars, motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.
Hal married Jeannie and became a loving father to her children on June 16, 1978. They made their home in North Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by his father, J. B. Smith. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Carroll Brown Smith; and children, Alesia Carroll Sewell Duffy and husband, Paul A. ?Jay? Duffy III, of North Little Rock, and Tommy Leon Sewell, Jr. and wife, Cheryl Ann Stephens Sewell of Fayetteville; his mother, Gladys Irene Stocks Smith; and brother, Mike Smith and wife, Rebecca Ann Jones Smith all of Lonoke. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lauren Alyse Johnston and Dylan Matthew Johnston, both of North Little Rock, and Cole Douglas Sewell of Fayetteville; great-grandchildren Aaden Heath Johnston and Arabella Alyse Johnston both of North Little Rock; one nephew; two nieces and one great-niece. He is also survived by other family and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Grizzard Cemetery in El Paso.
