Harold Kersey

October 1, 1937 — May 31, 2018

Harold Kersey, age 80, of Kirby, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018. He was born on October 1, 1937 in Kirby, the son of Carl Clifton Kersey and Lyda V. Coffman Kersey. On July 23, 1965, he married Martha Evelyn Jackson Kersey who preceded him in death on September 8, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Carl Kersey, Jr., Curtis Kersey, M. C. Kersey, Boyd Kersey and J. D. Kersey; and two sisters, Monravia Henson and Coy Freeda "Tiny" Bell. Harold attended Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. He was a farmer and enjoyed breaking and riding horses and competing in horse shows. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, woodworking and trading for just about anything. He is survived by four children and their spouses, Tammy and David Alexander of Provo, Tabatha and Brian Haley of Hot Springs, Harold and Sharon Kersey of Sunshine and Carmella and Chad Bradshaw of Provo; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Quilla and Joe White of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Kirby and Marie Kersey and Billy and Mary Kersey, all of Kirby, and Dortha Kersey of Arkadelphia; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 4, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Bobby Golden and Bro. Larry Miller officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in McHorse Cemetery in Provo. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Austin Kersey, Jordan Kersey, Lane Kersey, Blake Bradshaw, Adam Bradshaw, Brock Haley, James Gilbert, Mason Glasgow, Jason Welch and Seth Tollett. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Candice Gilbert, Cameron Galsgow, Stephanie Welch and Brittany Tollett. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
