Harold J. Harvey, 81, of Little Rock, passed into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the home of his son in Greenbrier. He was born September 10, 1929 in Cabot, Arkansas to the late Daniel and Dolly Morris Harvey.
Harold was a lifelong member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church in Little Rock. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Mary Williams Lodge. He retired from the Livestock and Poultry Commission. In his spare time, he was an avid woodworker.
Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Dorothy Brown Harvey, brothers, Clarence and John "Red" Harvey, and sisters, Dorothy Osburn, Lillian Reed and Jewel Ellis. He is survived by a sister, Jennie B. Kirkpatrick of Little Rock; son, Wayne Harvey and wife, Aurelia of Greenbrier; daughter, Beverly Brown and husband, Kelvin of Little Rock; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, March 14 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Crystal Hill Baptist Church, 18823 Crystal Valley Rd., officiated by Rev. Larry Ballard. Interment will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery.
