H. G. "Junior" Carpenter

H. G. "Junior" Carpenter, age 84, of Rosboro, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. He was born on December 18, 1934 in Dierks, the son of Henry Grady Carpenter, Sr. and Annie Myrtle Henry Carpenter. On March 5, 1960, he was married to Freda Howell. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Junior was a retired carpenter. He was a member and deacon of the Salem Clark Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, crappie fishing and drinking coffee at the local caf round table. He is survived by his wife, Freda Carpenter of Rosboro; three children and their spouses, Mike and Ann Carpenter of Amity, Grady and Tammy Carpenter of Glenwood and Amber and Ron Courteaux of Arkadelphia; five grandchildren, Brandon Carpenter and his wife, Ella, Nicole Carpenter, Coy Carpenter, Zack Courteaux and Aurora Courteaux; five great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2019, in the Salem Clark Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Howell and Bro. James Owens officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethsaida Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Brandon Carpenter, Coy Carpenter, Zack Courteaux, Joseph Ashley, Kevin Owens and Devin Owens. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
