Gwen Fisher, 79, of North Little Rock, passed away on December 14, 2014 surrounded by family. She was born November 23, 1935 to Roscoe and Ruhama Smith in Minatare, NE. Gwen grew up in the rural area of Minatare, NE and married Donald Dean Fisher on August 23, 1952 in Mitchell, NE. She was a homemaker, raising six children as she made a home for her family in rural Scottsbluff, NE. After her husband passed, she moved to Arkansas to live with her daughter where she resided until her passing. Gwen never met a stranger, she always had a smile and laugh, she loved to watch hummingbirds and collect her porcelain dolls. She was also a very crafty lady, loving to make quilts, dolls, and many other homemade crafts.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, sisters, son and one great-grandson. She leaves to cherish her Bonnie Rivera of Minot, ND; Timothy (Kaylene) Fisher of Cusick, WA; Donald (Edna) Fisher of Angelton, TX; Roger (Shiela) Fisher of Cheyenne, WY; and Nancy Shannon of North Little Rock, AR; brother, Melvin (Violet) Smith of Gering, NE; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, she was a devoted and loving mother to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at Sherwood Seventh Day Adventist Church, 15202 Hwy 107, Jacksonville, AR 72076.
