Milton Miller of Little Rock lived his life exceedingly well. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 5, 1946 and passed on from this earth on March 7, 2007. Milton lived life to the fullest, enjoying time well spent with family and friends. He loved the outdoors, and counted boating, fishing and hunting, and sports of all kinds as his hobbies. He was a great tennis player, but as a golfer he made up for his lack of skill by being wonderful company.
Milton is survived by his child bride, Tammy; two sons, Guy Milton "Trip" Miller III and Josh Miller; Trip's wife Kelly and Josh's partner, Wendy McKoy; and his mother, Ida Mae, or "Mamaw." Other survivors include his sisters, Sheila Peters and Debra Lee Miller, Sheila's husband, Dave; brother, Ronald Miller; grandchildren Delaney Marie Miller and newly born Rowan Emerson Miller; nephews Ben Barham and Amos Cochran; favorite aunt, Joyce Cain; and in-laws Dr. Pete and Suzanne Carroll and Robin and Leslie Carroll. Milton's dad, Guy Milton Miller, Sr., went on before him. His large family includes 14 aunts and uncles and 42 first cousins, living and dead.
He leaves behind numerous close friends, but special mention must be made of fellow members of The Brotherhood of The Hook: Jim Clemons, Jim Orsini, Owen Stoker, Dick Stoker, Gene Remley and Lowly Pledge Woody Jackson; and close friends Michele Anthony, Sean and Michele Garnish, Larry and Carol Ann McAdams, Kim Wilson, Dr. Kevin Roberts and Brian Arnold. The family also expresses gratitude to the care given Milton by Dr. Brad Baltz and his staff.
Milton attended "Mr. Jefferson's University," the University of Virginia, and graduated from Little Rock University. He gave 27 years of dedicated service to McNeil Corporation, where his legendary expense account helped woo clients from Wal-Mart to Fred's, and many others. He taught Sunday School at Second Presbyterian Church of Little Rock, and later served as a Deacon at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church.
Milton requested that anyone feeling sadness over his passing consider that his suffering has ended, and if that doesn't work, mix a beverage of your choice and hum the Razorback fight song. A CASUAL memorial service will be held at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. A wake will be held at the White River at a later date, where his ashes will be spread. The family requests memorials be made to Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, the Arkansas Cancer Research Center or the charity of the donor's choice.
