Guy Gammel

Guy Holley Gammel, 91, was welcomed into Heaven on February 7, 2012. He was born in Redfield, Arkansas on July 18, 1920. Guy was an adoring husband and father. He was the second son of Bedford and Maude Gammel and the last survivor of their five children. He grew up and graduated in Redfield where he made many lifelong friends, including the future love of his life and wife of over 65 incredible years, Juanita Clark. He was a member of Levy Baptist Church.
Guy was a volunteer soldier in WWII with the 505th Ordinance Company, in support of the 3rd Armored "Spearhead" Division. He spent ten months and covered over 1,250 miles from Omaha Beach to Nordhausen, Germany. He was discharged from the Army at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on November 27, 1945. After returning from the war, he romanced and married Juanita and went to work for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, from which he retired.
He is survived by his bride, Juanita, loving daughter, Deborah Hobson and husband, Michael, and six grandchildren, David Hobson and wife, Lauren, Elizabeth Bennett and husband, Jonathan, Caleb Hobson and wife, Rachelle, Micah Hobson, Joshua Hobson and Tiffany Hobson, and one great-grandchild, Kayleigh Hobson.
Services will be Saturday, February 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), officiated by Rev. Steven Tiner, followed by interment at Kane Creek Bethel Church at 3:00. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:00 noon. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, David Hobson, Caleb Hobson, Micah Hobson, Joshua Hobson and his nephews, Dale Kindy and Mark Kindy.
