Grady Albert Williams

Grady Albert Williams, age 85, of Mount Ida, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016. He was born on September 6, 1931 in Mt. Lucas, Texas, the son of Albert Adkins Williams and Mary Aretha Harris Williams. On April 11, 1950, he married Norma Sue Huggins Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Henry Williams; two sisters, Joyce Witten and Kay Isaacks; and twin infant siblings. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He worked as a welder on oil rigs and was a cattle rancher. After retirement, he was a night watchman at Bean Lumber Company. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sue Williams; and one daughter and her husband, Diane and Rob Edington, all of Mount Ida; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Big Fir Cemetery with Bro. Roger Harper officiating. Pallbearers will be Elwood Massey, George Hite, Shawn Curtis, Tim Davis, Joe Starr and Ken Osika. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midway Missionary Baptist Church, c/o Donna Singleton, 124 Singleton Place, Royal, Arkansas 71968. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
