Grace Jester Franklin age 88 of Arkadelphia passed away Tuesday, December 29 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehab in Arkadelphia. She was born August 17, 1921 to the late Riley and Ludie Smith Jester of Curtis, AR. She was raised in the Assembly of God Church in Curtis and a retired cafeteria employee of the Arkadelphia Public School System. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband Julius L. Franklin, sisters Melvie and Mildred Jester, brothers Gradie and Billy Olen Jester, step grandson, Trey Cannon, brother-in-law Carrol Hollingshead and sister-in-law, Mary Frances Jester.
Left to cherish her loving memory are daughters, Judy Fendley and her husband Hugh of Arkadelphia, Ann Hutto of Damascus, Jane Register and husband Mike of Monroe, LA, sons, Buddy Franklin and wife Priscilla of Las Vegas, NV and David Franklin and wife Deana of Hot Springs, sisters, Amelia Hollingshead of Arkadelphia, Ruth Glover and husband Jim of Chula Vista, CA, one brother Otis Jester and wife Lynn of Curtis, sister-in-law Erma Lea Jester of Waldo, AR, brother-in-law Doyle Franklin and wife Anna of Oakland Community, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, one step granddaughter, 4 step great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, December 31, 2009 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Brother Marvin Pate officiating. Burial will be in the South Fork Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Warren Fendley, Tommy Johnson, Dausen Duncan, Lonnie Duncan, Stan Carson, Drew Register, Danny Franklin and Jason Jones. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
