Gordon Chapman

Gordon Chapman passed away April 10, 2016. He was born in Milan, Tennessee on Oct. 28, 1929 to Milton Joseph Chapman and Stella Warbritton Chapman. He graduated from Milan High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. Gordon then received a degree in business from Memphis State College (now the University of Memphis) where he was a proud Kappa Alpha. After college, he began a lifelong career in banking, holding positions at First National and C&I in Memphis and Union National Bank in Little Rock.

Gordon was married for 58 years to Louise Cambron Chapman, who many will remember as having taught marketing at the University of Memphis and at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Walter Bruce Chapman, sister, Glenda Elizabeth Chapman and niece, Laurie Chapman Denton. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Ann Pulliam, two nieces and a nephew.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
