Gloyd Huckabee

Gloyd G. Huckabee age 83 of Arkadelphia died Saturday, March 15, 2008 in Little Rock. He was born February 10, 1925 in Hope, Arkansas the son of George and Ethel Dilbeck Huckabee. He was a public school teacher and administrator for 37 years. Mr. and Mrs. Huckabee invested between them, seventy-three years in the Arkansas public school system. Mr. Huckabee was a member of the Arkadelphia Lion's Club, First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia and served in the U.S. Navy in WWII.

Survivors include his wife Iris Eskew Huckabee, one son Robert George Huckabee and wife Debbie of Terre Haute, IN, two sisters, Mary Mule of Baton Rouge, LA and Bonnie Chesley of Shreveport, LA, one granddaughter, Deanna Minnich and husband Matt.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating and a poem by Wanda O'Quinn. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Choir of Media Center.
