Gloria E. Sayles

Gloria E. Sayles, age 79, passed away peacefully in her home on January 4, 2023, in Benton, Arkansas, after a long battle with illness.  She was born on December 10, 1943, in Portsmouth Virginia to the late Gloria E. Smith and Joseph E. Williams.

Gloria moved to Arkansas due to illness about 5 years ago. However, the place that gave her the most joy was Sedona Arizona, where she resided for 20 plus years. She lived for a few years in Senegal, Africa. She was truly a “One of a Kind” woman. Gloria was a special woman who was loved by her family and who loved her family in return. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded by her parents and sisters: Mona Dickerson of Portsmouth, Virginia and Sheila Ned of Suffolk, Virginia.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Sayles of Benton, Arkansas Sister, Cathy Smith of Alanta Georgia;  daughter, Catrina Rojas of Benton, Arkansas; son, Townley Stevenson Covington and fiancé, Shirley Leal of Vancouver Washington; grandchildren: Adrian Schneider, Reinaldo Rojas, Randy D. Armstrong, Jr., Raishel Covington and Elijah Covington; great-grandchildren: Roycee Isabella Rojas, Camilla Mae Michelle Rojas, Roland Lee Adrian Rojas, Makiah Julianna Purnell, Ava Hudson; and many family members and friends who love Gloria and will miss her always.
