Gloria K. ?Doe-Doe? DiTommaso, 78, of North Little Rock passed away Thursday July 30, 2009 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Gloria is survived by her devoted husband, Danny DiTommaso. She was the loving mother of a daughter, Debera DiTommaso and life long friend Karen Turner, of Jacksonville, and three sons Steve Gassaway and wife Rhonda, of Eureka Springs, Eddie Gassaway of Rolla Missouri, and Tony DiTommaso and wife Patti, of Cabot. She had five grandchildren, Sara Gassaway Rawlings of Atlanta, Georgia, Myles Gassaway of Denver, Colorado, Gemma DiTommaso, and Joseph DiTommaso of North Little Rock, and Tyler Benight of Cabot. Gloria also leaves behind three sisters and four brothers, Patsy Williamson, Shirley Oppenheimer, Faye Kidd, Ray Norman, Mike Norman, Roger Norman, and Jerry Norman. She was preceded in death by her brothers Pete Kennedy, and Danny Norman. Many joyous hours were shared with her loving companion Lexa. She also leaves behind a host of lifetime friends and neighbors.
?Doe Doe? opened her home as a day care center in the late1960?s, and for the next thirty-three years touched the hearts and lives of hundreds of children from throughout central Arkansas. Her family and friends will always be touched by Gloria?s generosity and courageous dedication to each child and parent, who were fortunate to be involved in her life.
A celebration of her life will be held Monday (1:00-3:00pm) at Highway Baptist Church, 5845 Roundtop Dr., North Little Rock. Arrangements have been made by North Little Rock Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
