Glenda Ratliff, age 60 of Hot Springs, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at her home. She was born October 28, 1948 in Hope AR, the daughter of Gordon Harry and Julia Vivian Murry Smart. She was a retired schoolteacher. Mrs. Ratliff was nominated several times and received Teacher of the Year 2000 for the Aldine, TX school system.
She is survived by her former husband Larry Ratliff of Houston, two sons, Kyle Ratliff and wife, Jeanie of Conway and Ryan Ratliff and partner, Eric Freedman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, two brothers, Gordon Smart and his wife Sylvia of New Mexico and Michael Smart and his wife Brenda of Missouri, two sisters, Diane Wilson and her husband Charles of Conway and Melissa Hulls and her husband John of Florida, two grandchildren, Kayleigh and Tyler Ratliff.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Monday, January 26, 2009 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev, J.J. Whitney officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
