Glen Howard Welch, age 83 of Arkadelphia died November 14, 2006 at the Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs. He was born May 14, 1923 in Little Rock, ARthe son of the late W. O. and Ruth Stone Welch. He was a carpenter and millwright and a charter member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, served on the Arkadelphia City Board 1971-1973 and as a president for the AFLCIO union. He was preceded in death by one brother, William Welch.
Survivors include his wife, Nellene Mauldin Welch; two sons, Steve Welch and wife, Deb. of North Little Rock and Jack Welch and wife, Marilyn of Rockwall, TX; two brothers, Neal Welch of Arkadelphia and Sam Welch of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Toby Welch, Tonya Tittle, Kelly, Matthew and Michael Welch and one great-grandchild, Laken Tittle.
Funeral services will be 10:30 Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Jessica Durand officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
