Glen Smith

Glen W. Smith of North Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2017. Glen was born to Buford Smith and Inge Koesteldorfer Smith on January 24, 1957 in Leghorn, Italy.

Glen grew up as an "Army Brat" having lived in Panama, California, and Kentucky.

Glen attended high school at East Rankin Academy, Pelahatchie, MS. He graduated from Mississippi College with a BA in Elementary Education; a Masters in Pastoral Studies from Bethany Divinity Seminary; and a Doctorate in Christian Counseling from Covington Theological Seminary. Glen pastored in Morton, Magee, Collins and Taylorsville, Mississippi. He taught elementary education for 17 years in Mississippi.

Glen was a master engraver and wood carver. He enjoyed working as a clock smith, sketch artist, and banjo maker. He enjoyed keeping exotic animals such as snakes, lizards, and spiders. Until the last year, Glen was never without a pet cocker spaniel.

Glen had a long term relationship with motorcycles and had the opportunity to take long trips with fellow bikers. He had 4 grandchildren that he enjoyed immensely, Isaac 16, Jonas 11, Reese 10, and Elliott 6. Glen and Suzanne enjoyed traveling, especially to historic sites.

Glen is survived by his wife of thirty-eight and a half years, Suzanne Yates Smith and daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Jason Lozada of North Little Rock. Glen also leaves a favorite aunt who was very much like a mother, Sissy Lyle, Morton, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, Buford Smith and Mable "Bill" Smith and Floyd Smith his paternal grandparents.

Glen was like Will Rogers, he never met a man he didn't like.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
