Glen E. Sirmon, age 82, of Kirby, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011. He was born on October 13, 1929 at Athens, the son of Robert Ivan Sirmon and Ival Dorothy Tipton Sirmon. On April 15, 1949, he was married to Myrtle Faye Mack who preceded him in death on July 26, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter; his son-in-law, Ray Coston; and his sister, Betty Davis. Mr. Sirmon was a graduate of Daisy High School and received his degree in forestry from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He worked in the timber industry and was a member of the Daisy Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, traveling and being with his family. He is survived by his daughter, Sandy Coston of Hot Springs; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Valinda Sirmon and David and Verna Sirmon, all of Kirby, and Keith and Leslie Sirmon of Daisy; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Nick and Mischelle Coston of Greenwood, Luke Coston of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Mike and Shelley Sirmon of Amity, Zachary Sirmon of Glenwood; Jason and Jessica Sirmon and Bryan and Rachel Sirmon, all of Kirby, Caitlin Sirmon and Keilie Sirmon, both of Daisy; three step-grandchildren, T. J. McCarty of Conway, Ryan Duggan and Zane Duggan, both of Kirby; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 17, 2011 in the Daisy Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin Jewell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Athens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters; and the nurses and staff of St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center, National Park Medical Center, Howard Memorial Hospital, Dierks Health and Rehab, Dierksen Hospice and Dr. Neeraj Bharany, M.D. and his staff.
